Hi brown bag, I love your desserts to death but canele is not fully cooked inside and doughy two visits in a row so please somebody do quality check. Other stuffs are still awesome - cheese cake, scones, madeleine....

I stumbled across this place while doing business at the building where it's located. I was able to swing by closer to their closing time than I would have liked, but the staff was welcoming but not overbearing. I had a few must-gets based on personal taste and asked if they could recommend a final item based on my choices. The staff member mentioned 2 items they thought I might like, and I picked the one that sounded most appetizing. There were some items I will have to stop back by to get as they sound AMAZING. I had a odd number of items and the person helping me offered the secondary item as a bonus since they were getting close to closing. The item that jumped out to me was the Buttermilk Scone. I had it for breakfast the following morning and it was a DELIGHT! The other items I got we fruit and pistachio, all of them were lovely. I can't wait for an occasion to be back in their area to pick up some more tasty delights. I see a LOT of stuff like crumble popping up and it is FAR to sugary for my personally. If that's your vibe, that's cool, but I prefer a more subtle flavor. Everything I got was very fresh(even at the end of the day) and had great flavor without being overpowering. I will also have to try a coffee or tea next time. It's not a big shop, so if you don't look you might miss this somewhat hidden treasure, but it's well worth the trip and the slightly elevated price for FRESH, yummy treats, made by hand, with such care.

Pardon my French but this place is ::beep:: delicious! Korean inspired French Desserts! The best of both worlds in my opinion; there is definitely something for everyone here. All the items we got were a hit, from the textures, to the flavor combos, aesthetics, and of course the sweetness level, were just right! "it's not too sweet!" but If you want something more savory they have that too! The Gorgonzola Financier was unique and surprisingly delicious! Pair it all with the refreshing blue lemonade or the cold brew with delicious foam and y'all set! The must order for sure is the canele, just get it! all in all, the service was nice, the ambiance was cute, a little small but quaint, the desserts were tasty! i will be back to try more items 4/5 Blue Berry Cream Cheese Scone $5.2 Cherry Blossom Strawberry Chocolate Tigre $4.50 Crème Brûlée Pound Cake Classic Canele $3.75 Gorgonzola Financier $3.35 Matcha Financier $3.25 Salted Caramel & Pecan Madeleine $3.15 Tip: they validate parking in the structure! Winner! Happy Eats, loves! ^_^

I LOAF finding hidden gems, and @brownbagcookies_la is definitely worth stopping by! Tucked behind a busy plaza in Koreatown, this cute little bakery features Korean-inspired French deserts that are freshly baked daily. My favorites are any of their financiers, which are topped with cream in flavors such as ube, black sesame, matcha strawberry and red velvet, as well as their ube basque cheesecake, which is so fluffy and creamy, without being overly sweet or overwhelming. Definitely make sure to stop by and support this small, well-deserving Asian bakery!

Loved their pistachio financier! The texture was perfectly moist and spongy and it had a nice hint of pistachio flavor. It's definitely one of the better financiers I have had. They have a parking structure that they validate for 20 minutes free, which makes parking super easy.

What I Ordered: Earl Grey with Milk Chocolate Tigre ($4.50) Black Sesame Cream Financier ($4.85) Ube Cream Financier ($4.85) Blueberry Cream Cheese Scone ($5.25) Creme Brulee Pound Cake ($4.15) Tiramisu ($9.50) Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie Cloud Kyoto Style Cold Brew ($6.50) Strawberry Matcha Latte Food: Cute Korean Bakery in the heart of ktown, los angeles. First of all I would like to say, every item I tried went above my expectations. The two financiers I tried were black sesame and ube cream. I enjoyed both, but I personally liked the black sesame more. What really caught my attention was the taste and quality of the cream. It was soft and sweet in all of the optimal amounts. One of the most popular items was the Blueberry cream cheese scone, and this was delicious as well. I don't really like cream cheese too much, but the one in this scone was well paired with the other ingredients. The Sea Salt Chocolate Chip cookie was delightful, with just the right number of salts on top of a sweet and delectable chocolate chip cookie. I had to add this to my order, I mean the place is called brown bag COOKIES! It definitely did not disappoint. My absolute favorite item on the menu was the Strawberry Cream Matcha latte! It was literally the best strawberry matcha latte I have ever had. The strawberry cream on top is soft and soothing, it felt like my lips were being covered by pillows on my first sip. Not going to lie my first sip was all cream, but I was not complaining. On my second sip, I got to the matcha portion with the strawberry cream, and the two flavors complemented each other very well. The fruitiness of the strawberry cream and the sweetness from the matcha worked perfectly in conjunction with each other. It is on the pricier side, but I understand the reason when I take into consideration the quality of each item. Service: the staff are very friendly and quick. I was able to talk to the owner for a bit as well, and he was a delight! Ambiance: Cute and Minimal Korean Bakery cafe.

This is THE perfect place to get a cute gift box of Korean-inspired French desserts. This little hole-in-the-wall in Koreatown honestly reminded me of Japan with the delicate pacakaging, high-quality desserts, and beautiful presentation. And not to mention how tiny of a space it was. I got a little bit of everything for my family and every single one was meticulously designed and crafted. My favorites were definitely the early grey cream scone and the matcha white chocolate tigre though so don't skip out on those. I also ordered the Kyoto-style cold brew with cream but didn't try it since it was for my mom but she loved it.
